Frequently Asked Questions & Rates

What is Roaming Buffaloes Adventure Club?
Roaming Buffaloes is a social networking club focusing on outdoor activities, weekend trips and other social events for people in the Western New York area. Roaming Buffaloes provides members the opportunity to explore Western New York and the surrounding region with others like yourself, seeking fun and adventurous activities. Roaming Buffaloes is NOT a dating web site or just a meeting place for singles. Roaming Buffaloes is intended to be a networking group for all people. Married couples and singles are all welcome to join. We are not affiliated with any religious or political groups. We are a standalone organization that supports the belief of having fun and enjoying what life has to offer.

What are the benefits of joining Roaming Buffaloes?
Roaming Buffaloes will provide members with a social network of individuals looking to participate in a broad range of fun activities. RBAC’s members will benefit from a group that plans, organizes and carries out activities. Many of these activities, you as an individual, may be inclined to sign up for, but otherwise may find difficult to plan on your own. RBAC will do all the planning for you!! RBAC will also provide transportation and equipment rental if needed for all activities to make each event a well organized, all inclusive activity.

Our #1 goal is providing a memorable and rewarding experience for all of our participating members.

As a group we will have discounts on many of the activities we participate in. When you have 30 or 40 people all going to do the same thing, it's usually less expensive than if you went by yourself. These discounts will be passed on directly to our members rewarding them for their membership in RBAC. In addition, we offer discounts for many local business sponsors in WNY. These sponsors of RBAC will provide you discounts on various products and services in and around the Western New York region.

RBAC will also organize some events throughout the year that will be free of charge to our members and they will be paid for through the membership fund.

Are the events free?
That will depend on the event. Throughout the year we will organize a wide variety events, some less expensive than others. RBAC will organize many events in and around the Western New York community that will not require any upfront fees for members. At the same time we will offer many activities and trips that will require money to pay for the travel and services that will be provided. These trips will be at our cost to our members and RBAC will leverage the size of the club to get the best group rates possible.

Can I bring a guest to a Roaming Buffaloes event?
Guests will be welcome at some events throughout the year. We are planning many happy hours and members socials, these events we encourage you to bring guests to so they can learn all about RBAC. At certain points we may open it up to guests if we have spots available in the days before the trips.

Is there a discount for married couples?
Yes, since we don’t want to be mistaken as just a singles club, married couples will save 70% when joining together.

If the state of New York considers you a married couple, then we do too.

If we're engaged or living together, are we considered married?
Nope not yet!!!

What is an Event sponsor?
We offer an event sponsor program to our members also. This means that if you suggest an event or trip to RBAC and it is approved and scheduled, you will have the option of being the onsite organizer of that event on the day of. RBAC will provide you with all the information needed to run the event, including rosters, contact info, planning tools etc. If the RBAC member takes on those responsibilities, RBAC will pick up some or all of the cost of the event for that sponsor member. Basically that means you fly for free!!!

I'm not really into athletic stuff, are there social events too?
Yes we plan a wide variety of events to suit all of our members. There are many social events and happy hours that do not involve athletic activity. Also quite a few of our outdoors activities will not necessarily involve the need for athleticism.

Will the adventure activities be too difficult for me to participate in?
No. This group is designed to take the novice and intermediate adventurer and expose them to activities that they may not otherwise plan on their own. All trips will be organized and supervised under professional guidance. We plan some of our trips to be exhilarating but at the same time very enjoyable and rewarding to all of our members.

Who will fit in with the group?
We are looking for members that share a wide variety of interests and backgrounds. The more diverse our group, the more there is to gain for all the members. We plan to offer a wide array of events to keep everyone’s interests piqued.

Will I be able to find others to run, bike, play tennis and meet for activities around the community?
Yes the member’s message board will offer you a place to post an activity that you are looking for people to participate in and give them information to get a hold of you in return.

I could do some of these activities myself, why should I join Roaming Buffaloes?
Isn't it more fun to do things with friends? At each event you attend you'll see friends you've made from past events and meet new members. There will be many events planned that you and your friends may not have the ability or drive to plan on your own. Let us do all the hard work, you and your friends just come and ENJOY the experience!!!

I have a physical disability, may I attend events too?
We do our best to help our friends with disabilities to enjoy our events, and most of our events are very accessible. Some events would be tough to access, such as hikes, kayaking, biking and so on. If you have a concern, please email us with any questions and we will do everything in our power to accommodate.

What are the effective dates of my membership?
Your membership is good from the day you make payment online until one year from that date. Memberships are also non-transferable.

What are my membership payment options?
You may join with a credit card or checking account thru PayPal on our website. If you prefer, you have the option to mail in a check to our P.O. box also. This will take a few days until access is granted, as we need to receive the check and activate your account manually. Or you may also sign up and pay at any of our social events that we may be holding in and around Western New York.

What is the cancellation policy for event payments?
Cancellations will depend on each particular event. Some events will require a booking deadline before money needs to be sent to a certain trip organizer or facility where the event is located. RBAC will do its best to gain cancellation insurance for each member as an added benefit but cannot guarantee a complete refund. Other events will not be paid until the day of, so cancellation will not be as big of an issue.

Also one added benefit of being a member allows you to use the member’s message board in the event of a last minute cancellation. If you can get another member to take your spot and reimburse you your trip fees, RBAC can just make a simple roster change at your request and slot another member in your spot. That way you never lose a cent!!
